This last year has taught us a lot. We learned, again, that our community comes together when it matters most, and that hard work, collaboration, and adaptability are key to achieving success. These three things allowed BGCNLT to continue serving Club members and the entire community throughout the last year. It allowed us to serve over 30,000 meals to local families last summer, to quickly open up our doors to the children of essential workers, and support kids and families as they transitioned into a new school year. Since March of last year, we have been doing whatever it takes to meet the basic needs of our Club Members, including addressing food security, and continuing to provide youth with a safe, supportive environment to increase access to opportunities and experiences. Our mission is more critical than ever, and I continue to be optimistic about what our Club can accomplish with the support of our amazing community.
This summer, we are thrilled to provide all-day Summer Programs in Incline Village, Kings Beach, and, for the first time ever, in Truckee. Kids will engage in innovation-sparking art, science, and outdoor activities that build confidence, nurture social and cognitive development, and deliver the fun summertime bliss they crave – all while adhering to health guidelines and putting safety first.
