Support BGCNLT!

BGCNLT established COVID-19 Emergency Relief Programming that was used to support community needs in response to COVID-19. Donations to this fund provided invaluable support to vulnerable populations such as families who need access to food and/or healthcare and advance an engaging digital learning experience for Club Kids to stay connected at home.

Authorities are urging people to practice social distancing to slow transmission of COVID-19, but teleworking is not an option for many workers. Service providers in hospitality, retail, and hourly positions who may already live paycheck-to-paycheck have suffered the most. As schools have closed throughout the country, many families are also dealing with childcare issues and are no longer able to access federally-funded school breakfast and lunch programs. This fund helped alleviate these drastic disruptions to family life.

After consulting with public health officials, the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe will reopen on June 15th at our Kings Beach Clubhouse with the primary purpose to serve children of essential workers. We will operate under strict safety guidelines outlined by the CDC and have limited enrollment. Our Staff is humbled and proud to leverage our ability to come together as we support our frontline workers at a time when they are valiantly serving each of us.

We are monitoring developments of this global pandemic, and as COVID-19 reverberates across hospitals, offices, schools, and homes, we are reminded of our most basic shared value - all of us depend on each other for a healthy community. For more than 20 years, BGCNLT has been committed to serving the community. We mobilize the caring power of the North Tahoe region to help people in need.

As our regions' leading professionals in youth development, we are committed to providing a FUN and memorable summer for our kids while also ensuring that Club is a safe and healthy environment. We look forward to moving into this next phase of programming and, as always, will do whatever it takes to support our Club members both inside and outside of Club doors.
